Quinn Klingerman was born in San Dimas on June 12, 1987.
Quinn attended Citrus College from 2006-2012. During his time at college he enjoyed extracurricular actives such as Student Government and swimming. He dedicated many hours to the student government process evaluating college policy on various committees such as Student Services. He worked part-time as an artist at First Street Art Gallery while he was focused on his college studies. First Street Art Gallery is an art studio that specializes in supporting people with disabilities to achieve their artistic visions.
After completing his college studies, Quinn began full-time at First Street Art Gallery where he worked until December 15, 2016. During his time there he focused mostly on abstract art primarily using pastels, paint and colored pencils. He created many large mixed media pieces during this time.
Quinn currently freelances out of his Claremont studio and has been exhibiting his work in Claremont, CA the last few years. He has had requests for paintings from Claremont to London!
When Quinn is not painting in the studio, he enjoys reading and watching legal thrillers, being with friends and family and working out.
Artist Statement
I was inspired by of the style of my colleagues at First Street but couldn’t exactly replicate their style. I found many of the styles amazing and inspirational.
I have been creating and exploring my own style as a freelance artist and enjoying the freedom that comes with having my own studio. My current work and the process of painting has felt like therapy -I can get into my own rhythm because there are no restrictions and my work is not looked at by anyone else while I am working on it.
I hopes that viewers will get joy out of my work. I enjoy having exhibitions because it feels euphoric to share my work and have others experience my work.
Most of the paintings in this show, “Spring and Other Miracles” were created with acrylic paint on canvas. Many of the pieces in this show have a Spring blossoming feel and Spring represents “New Beginnings” which is similar to the many new exciting changes that are happening in my life in general right now.
As my work is abstract, I get delight out of knowing each viewer will interpret my art in different ways.
